National Association Of Rocketry (Nar) Mentor
Vehicle Lead
I took the lead in designing a high-power rocket with the capability to accommodate a payload and achieve an altitude of 4,200 feet. This involved the manufacturing of carbon fiber nosecones, fins, and plates using composite laying techniques. Furthermore, I conducted investigations using CFD models in Star-CCM+ to characterize the vehicle's drag and other aerodynamic properties.Throughout this project, I had the opportunity to present to a NASA panel during the Preliminary Design, Critical Design, and Flight Readiness review stages. In addition to the design phase, I was responsible for testing critical separation and recovery events, as well as the structural components of the rocket to ensure smooth operation. As part of my contributions, I initiated 14 demonstration and certification launches for both the USLI team and the rocketry club. I managed the coordination of subsystems, including the vehicle, payload, and administration, ensuring a unified and efficient design.Leading weekly team meetings, I facilitated the seamless integration of subsystems and maintained effective communication within the team. Additionally, I initiated a year-long rocket design project within the rocketry club, with the goal of promoting the development of aerospace-related skills among its members.
Vice President
I supported the President by creating and delivering over 10 technical rocketry presentations to the rocketry club. I also put forward a proposal for a $1,500 grant to the Student Government Association, which was intended to kickstart 11 rocket launches and assembly projects. In addition, I maintained communication with the Rocketry Team to attract prospective team members for our senior design initiatives.
Software Engineer
I actively contributed to the optimization of the design process for RF components by programming over 10 CAD software utilities aimed at automation and streamlining. My work also extended to upgrading Cadence AWR tools, empowering design engineers to automate repetitive tasks and achieve geometric optimization. As part of my responsibilities, I facilitated the migration of legacy code bases and software to current-generation standards, implementing performance optimizations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Collaboration was a key part of my role, and I worked closely with teams across various departments within the company, including CAD, R&D, and software, to harmonize the design process flow. One of my notable achievements was my contribution to proprietary software, specifically designed to enhance filter design. This software was successfully released for production use by external clients, making a significant impact in the industry.
Cad Automation Software Engineer Intern
In my role, I played a pivotal role in improving the capabilities of Cadence AWR tools, enabling design engineers to automate repetitive tasks and achieve enhanced geometric optimization. I was responsible for transforming static CAD layouts into parametric designs by applying mathematical principles. Additionally, I fostered collaboration with various departments within the company, such as CAD, R&D, and software, to streamline and optimize the overall design process flow.
