I'm a sports writer covering the NHL and hockey world. These days, my work can be found at The Athletic. Previously, I was lead hockey writer at ESPN's Grantland, and my work has appeared at outlets including Sportsnet, Vice Sports, The Guardian and The New York Times. My new book, The Down Goes Brown History of the NHL, comes out in October.In the 10+years that I've been writing hockey, I've built a loyal audience and one of the largest social media followings in the hockey media, appearing on Sports Illustrated's list of the 100 best Twitter follows. My personal blog, Down Goes Brown, has become one of the largest independent hockey blogs in the world, attracting over a million visits per year. I promote my work during regular TV and radio appearances around North America on properties such as TSN, CTV, ESPN Radio and Sirius/XM. My first book, The Best Of Down Goes Brown, was published in 2012, and I co-wrote an e-book on the top 100 players in NHL history that was published in early 2017.Prior to my writing career, I spent fourteen years in the corporate world building web sites and online marketing campaigns. I have extensive experience in web marketing, including user experience and best practices, metrics and analysis.
