As the VP of Research & Data at DomainTools, I look for ways to make the Internet a better place, focusing on Internet infrastructure information, such domain registration and DNS data analysis. Specifically, the DomainTools Research team and I focus on machine learning, visual analytics, information filtering/retrieval, personalization & recommender systems, computer-supported cooperative work, and human-computer interaction in network security and business contexts to improve the productivity, increase the security, and strengthen the decision-making capabilities in organizations. DomainTools is the global leader for Internet intelligence and the first place security practitioners go when they need to know. The world's most advanced security teams use our solutions to identify external risks, investigate threats, and proactively protect their organizations in a constantly evolving threat landscape.I received my PhD from the University of Minnesota in 2006 and was a winner of the 2010 ACM Software Systems Award. I helped build MovieLens, one of the original Movie recommender systems.
