I'm one of the leaders of a social enterprise called Career Launch, incubated inside higher education. We partner with colleges, high schools, workforce agencies, and student-focused nonprofits to measure career readiness and social capital to drive better outcomes. Our data analytics provides partner organizations with information to make more informed decisions, and data to identity students who need career readiness support the most. We have curricula, resources, and services rooted in 14+ years of student data that create an immersive experience that our partners bring to their students. The immersive experience helps our partners: - accelerate student career exploration and life design mindsets- increase career readiness- increase social capital with employers of each student's interest- increase students' confidence and self-efficacy- open doors to work-based learning, internships, and job opportunities in the "hidden job market"As a student, I was inspired by professor Al Ferrer. He coached me to proactively earn three competitive internships (two of which were in the hidden job market) that led to a job I really wanted upon graduation...without having the best grades and without having any connections. The Career Launch social enterprise was created as a means to pay forward professor Ferrer's gifts of agency and self-efficacy.
