I lead our efforts to preserve the historical and environmental integrity of the 18-acre Rose Island in the Narragansett Bay and its historical assets and wildlife refuge; and to share these assets, including our historic lighthouse, with the visiting public. We host guest for overnight experiences, trips for schools and youth groups, daily public tours, special events, etc.

We work to make Newport, Rhode Island and the surrounding area a welcoming, safe, and inclusive place for LGBTQ+ travelers, as well as the local community. We support LGBTQ+ youth programs in our area, and produce events to bring the community together.

Managed our efforts in the citizen science space and lead the development of technology and community with our FieldScope platform (originally built at the National Geographic Society with my involvement there) for networked field studies. My work builds on more than a decade leading design and development of educational technology software and interactive applications, as well as program management, instructional design, and educator professional development.

Lead trips of high school students on community service, cultural exploration, and climate change exploration trips with NY Times Student Journeys, National Geographic Student Expeditions, and Putney Student Travel to destinations around the globe including Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, and Iceland.

In my company Joy Riders, I create media intended to teach and inspire people to cultivate more joy within themselves and in the world around them. I am a writer, multimedia producer and on-camera talent who also serves as a coach and consultant in settings that serve our overall business mission. From 2014-2018, I also provided professional life and leadership coaching services, but I have retired that suite of service offerings to focus my efforts around writing and multimedia creation. I am not currently taking individual coaching clients, but am committed to serving in the personal development space through the lens of my work.

Worked as the technology product lead for interactive map technologies for use in the classroom and beyond. Managed the development and successful launch of multiple interactive mapping technologies, and associated curriculum and learning resources for classrooms across the United States. My work also involved outdoor education, designing multimedia resources introducing best practices for using technology inside and outside of the classroom to enhance learning.

Supported project teams with researching, obtaining, and preparing geospatial datasets for use in renowned print and web mapping projects.

Worked as a consultant for OSI-South Africa to advise NGOs in South Africa on best practices for implementing maps and interactive mapping and data collection for the purpose of collecting and communicating information. Worked mainly with the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (http://www.content.eisa.org.za/)
