Operations Manager for the DoD Business with 24x7x365 responsibility for running two copies of Akamai's managed platform for the military.

Responsible for the technology and development of the AOL News, Weather and Politics web sites, some of the largest in the world. In this role, led a team of eleven engineers with off shore and QA resources matrixed to me as well. Played a critical role in bridging the gap between the business and the technologists. Led a team of eight highly experienced software engineers developing custom web applications for the IT Security department for computer access management, auditing, reporting and law enforcement inquiry. Technologies included Linux, Apache, Perl, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Sybase and LDAP.

Supported the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and their Open Standards & Open Source software platform initiatives across the DoD community.

An exciting start-up opportunity developing a cutting edge Java and XML based Content Management product for the publishing industry. Responsible for all product development areas, including engineering, quality assurance, technical writing and product management. Initially came on board as one of three Chief Architects to develop the persistence model for the product, this involved a great deal of Java development and data modeling work. Technologies included Windows, Linux, Apache, Java, Java Swing, XML, and Java-RMI.

Led a team of 40+ technologists supporting this start-up's CORBA product development activities with a large Japanese partner. Effort included splitting time between Boston and Washington, D.C. as well as regularly collaborating with my peers in Japan. Was also responsible for the IT infrastructure and laboratory supporting all of these endeavors. Technologies included Sun SOLARIS, HP-UX, IBM AIX, Windows, Java, C, CORBA, and LDAP.

Led a group of engineers in support of the Intelligence Community, working with Open Standards based systems. Achievements included the original prototype of IntelLink (classified government network employing Internet technologies) and the initial MITRE Intranet application. Technologies included Sun SOLARIS, C, Perl, Gopher, Apache, Remedy, NIS+, and LDAP.

Wrote and developed software systems for both government and commercial satellite ground stations. Technologies used included VAX/VMS, DEC Unix/Ultrix, FORTRAN, C, Motif, and X Windows.
