FounderCarpoolassist, Inc. Aug 2009 - Nov 2016CarpoolAssist is an innovative web portal that helps people connect to setup carpools for work, school or special events. This project is well under its way in fulfilling it's vision - to fill every vehicle traveling on the road to 60-80 percent of its seating capacity - as it has around 284 schools throughout USA that are enjoying it's services. So far regular carpools that have been formed through CarpoolAssist are saving around 5000 miles (1480 Kgs of CO2 is being saved from going to atmosphere) of driving each day.The biggest achievement, while doing this project, for me was to see two neighboring parents or co-workers getting connected using CarpoolAssist to carpool to their school and work. From conception to beta/launch and re-launch, this project so far has been the most rewarding experience in feeding my entrepreneurial and simple-yet-savvy product design appetite. Outsourced development to a team of 3-5 engineers in India, whom I was able to manage using my engineering background. Wore all hats for this project (product management, marketing, sales, customer service and occasional development work) to bring this baby to its teens and now to early adulthood. Product Management tasks I have carried out have included: ***Writing the business plan, all-features SRS, PRD and test plans;***Creating Wireframes for UI design; ***Understanding, tracking and analyzing user behavior for every click and button;***Carrying out all marketing activities of cold calling and emailing; ***Designing marketing and training materials using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and iMovie;***Utilizing Google Analytics to target web searches; ***Providing customer service; putting up booths in schools to reach target parents; ***Writing blogs; issuing press releases and doing other SEO activities using Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn; carrying out A/B and usability testing; and hiring freelance(elance.com) contractors. We shut down operations of CarpoolAssist.

Software Engineer In Test For Netflix AppNetflix Sep 2009 - Jan 2010Los Gatos, Ca, UsI was responsible for managing testing effort of Netflix application on Sony TV and Wii. In the course of testing this app. I found few significant Sony TV issues with it's networking module. Sony TV was already in the market for 3 years and Sony appreciated my efforts by sending a separate email for that. Segregated pre-existing test cases that were relevant for these platforms otherwise the team was wasting a lot of time while testing as they had to read through each of them and then decide. Completed the test document by adding new test cases which were specific to these platforms. Carried out black box testing, filed issues/bugs using Mantis and Bugzilla and prepared test reports on Confluence and Testlink. -
Testing Framework Developer For RicohRicoh Americas Corporation Feb 2007 - Jun 2009Ricoh supports WSD Devices, WSD Scanner Services and WSD Printer Services to support Printing and Scanning on its MFPs through Microsoft Vista. When I joined Ricoh there was no formal test process and test team in place for these implementations. I developed complete test strategy for testing of the above firstly by creating functional Test Plans based on WSDD, WSDP, WSDS, ES and RPWS Specifications(around 600 test cases), secondly by automating parts of these test plans using freeware tool SOAP UI. This effort reduced the testing cycle from 6 days to 3 days for every major new release. After seeing my work I was assigned to create vulnerability test plan documents for all Ricoh MFPs.

Sr. Integration EngineerTellme Networks, Now A Subsidiary Of Microsoft. Feb 2006 - Dec 2006Tellme Networks hosts IVR solution for 411 applications of different carriers e.g. Cingular, Verizon. BellSouth. When BellSouth came on Tellme's board as a new client, it's 411 app needed to be integrated with Tellme's IVR. I was the designated owner for making sure that this integration happens successfully and within the allocated time. For this task I wrote the test plan for Tellme’s VoIP Interoperability Requirements document (that required a lot of understanding of DNS RFCs-3263 & 2782, SIP RFCs-2327, 3261, 3264, 4028 & 3311 and RTP RFCs 2198 & 2833 protocols) and Customer Acceptance Test Plan that had to be signed off by BellSouth. I was responsible for testing BellSouth's hardware through which this traffic would come to Tellme on VoIP as per Tellme’s VoIP Interop Requirements and that included working a lot with Ethereal and analyzing TCP/UDP packets. Carried out lab to lab, integration and Pre-FOA testing with BellSouth hardware Vendors- this included documenting different issues pertaining to different parties(Tellme, BellSouth) found during integration testing and then following up on them. After this testing BellSouth successfully launched their 411 directory service that landed on Tellme's IVR.My efforts were extremely appreciated by my manager at Tellme for strong communication skills and BellSouth's team on East Coast for being a great team player and being a great liaison for getting all issues resolved in a timely fashion.

And was responsible for deploying, configuring and upgrading the antivirus software i.e. McAfee's TVD on the corporate environment i.e. around 8000 NT workstations 200 NT servers and 45 exchange servers. I was involved in setting up test bed environments before putting any applications in production. Successfully executed Antivirus Softwares Evaluation Project. The purpose of this project was to shortlist an antivirus product based on the fact that it generates minimum traffic on the network so that it can work efficiently even on our extremely slow (16k) WAN links. This involved setting up a lab, having NT domain structure simulating slow links. -

Software EngineerDuet Technologies Jan 1996 - Feb 1998UsThis toolkit supports SNMPv1, v2 and v2C. It also supports abstraction of administration and security modules of SNMPv1and SNMPv2. It can be customized to any MIB. This toolkit is basically a library for decoding and encoding (BER) all types of SNMP packets. For developing a complete SNMP agent system using this toolkit, only access functions for all MIB variables are to be coded by the user. Later this toolkit was extended into an SNMP Agent Emulator. The purpose of this emulator was to test any SNMP Manager application. The team of two of us was responsible for designing this toolkit using OOD, implementing it using C++, writing unit test cases and then integration testing. Later I was single handedly responsible for extending it into SNMP Agent Emulator.
