Climos was exploring various natural processes to reduce emissions or remove atmospheric CO2 on large scales; and was in active development of the technical, regulatory and market processes necessary to bring a number of technologies to realization, including the Accelerated Weathering of Limestone (AWL) and Ocean Iron Fertilization (OIF). The five person team at Climos included a co-founder, former Chairman/CEO, and former Vice President of Services from GetThere (my first start-up company ‘98-’02). At the time I joined, Climos had just received the first round of VC funding and was heavy in development and fundraising. • Liaison for highly mobile CEO to outside agencies and associations, facilitated communication between parties globally, maintained good working relationships with scientific researchers and key high level contacts, prepared expense reports for CEO. Supported CEO with website redesign; designed/produced brochures, and other marketing materials for potential partners, donors, investors; prepared and maintained BOD meeting documents, database spreadsheets, etc. • Coordinated meetings, conferences and travel of executives for domestic and international activities – supported Climos employees, its Board of Directors and Scientific Advisory Board as needed; planned quarterly events for SF Cleantech community (Climatini)• Partnered with VP of Finance/Administration on HR related functions, including research and design of company’s first Ee health benefits plan; assisted in development/establishment of non-profit spin-off and event planning for a $1.5M International Scientific Conference at Asilomar• Assisted in preparing proposal for U.S. Department of Energy FOA (federal grant) for Recovering Act: Carbon Capture and Sequestration; conducted internet research on ocean/sea governances
