Following an electrical apprenticeship which concluded in 1983, I worked offshore until 1998 as a Electrical Commissioning technician on various platforms including Brent Charlie, Piper Bravo, • Verification of all electrical appliances, cable and material conform to design standards• Verification, Inspection and Testing of all HV and LV electrical power systems comply to design specifications• Verification, Inspection of all mechanical plant comply to design specification• Examination and Verification of all Mechanical Plant test results• Examination and Verification of all Electrical test results• Compiling Reports on progress of electrical and mechanical installation• Compiling Report on Commissioning and Testing Progress• Attending meeting to discuss progress, design, QA issues• Examining and verification of Design and contractor related drawings for project• Making alterations to design to allow for engineering cost cut backs where required• Liaising with design team through out project life• Attending Factory tests for LV switchgear, generators, chillers, fan coil units to ensure equipment is to design specifications and that all tests comply to design specifications, accepting test appliances on-behalf of client after completion of tests • Compiling Factory Test report for Client to review• On completion of appliance installation on-site, re inspecting installation, carrying out on site tests on appliances, checking both onsite and off site results are the same.• Writing procedures for commissioning of plant and associated equipment• Writing and implementing fire alarm cause and effect relating to individual building installations• Carrying out Black Building tests to verify all electrical and mechanical system are commissioned and operate to design specification.• Ensuring all Health and Safety measures are being implemented through out the life of the project, checking and reviewing method statements and risk assessments
