Ark Schools & Ventures had significant project delivery and investment appetite challenges and appointed me to define and deliver their programme of ICT and systems improvements. We now have a full catalogue of defined services, aligned against a “Strategy on a Page”, meeting Ark requirements, with strong Private Sector Partner relationships, Improvement Plans and KPIs. I defined a Programme Office, with clear tools and standards to define and deliver improvements. We now deliver 100+ projects per year, on budget and to defined quality, nearly all on time and my tools enable me to account for them all. The Benefits Realisation framework I introduced facilitates the team to demonstrate improvements which has improved whole organisation outcomes and resulted in more investment than we need. I have presented on many of these subjects to interested UK and international stakeholders.

ICT Lead, Ealing Fields Academies Trust (ealingfields.co.uk) (Sept 2014 – Nov 2017): From nothing and in community consultation, I led the definition and delivery of everything regarding ICT, Systems, Online, to tender a private sector partner and integrate in the built environment. This innovative project was the first server-less Secondary School in the UK and I led many visioning workshops with groups of educators focusing on a cloud first tactic with change management process.Project Lead, British Computer Society (bcs.org) (Oct 2016 – Apr 2017): Key responsibilities include leading a project for BCS Directors that delivered a web based product to support schools in the learning and teaching of Computing across Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. This involved working with CAS Master Teachers, Web Developers, Evaluation Schools and Directors to define and deliver a successful product and included a successful launch on a stand at BETT 2017.ICT Lead, Didcot Academies Trust (didcotgirls.oxon.sch.uk) (Nov 2014 – July 2017): To conduct a root and branch revised ICT strategy and implementation plan for the Board. I defined with the client, what it means for their organisation to be effective, efficient and economical and led a programme with SLT to manage people, process and resources to implement this.ICT Lead, School21 (school21.org) (Apr 2012 – Dec 2015): I led School21 ICT and a ~£1million budget, focusing on an innovative 1:1 BYOD blended learning programme, configuring MIS and Online aspects to deliver the Virtual School21 that underpinned the “outstanding” (Ofsted) education provision.

I defined and led an appropriate ICT strategy for the OAT Schools network, setting up a Trusted Traders scheme and coaching academies using my School Improvement Framework. My well received “National Marketplace” and “Dragon’s Den” finale to my 'Design an App' competition was OAT’s best ever national educational input. The winning app is in the Apple & Google App Stores.

Senior Educational Change & ICT Consultant, Cambridge Education (camb-ed.com) (Oct 2009 – Apr 2012): Key roles included procuring the formation of a unique service for the OAT called the e-learning Delivery Partnership, leading BSF ICT work, many school evaluations, and our “Making Good Teaching Outstanding with ICT” CPD offer (using Ofsted criteria).

I have been responsible for the management and development of School’s E-Learning and ICT Services including MIS. I bring my knowledge of relevant educational and ICT applications and my substantial experience in the education sector in order to support a school to manage change. From the range of school information available, I rigorously identify and implement an action plan to raise standards and/or implement a project that will change practice. I have worked with over 100 schools and managed ICT budgets worth around ~ £80million during a 12 year breadth and depth of experience.

Management Consultant, The Home Access Programme, (education.gov.uk) (Oct 2008 – Aug 2009): I delivered a stakeholder engagement implementation plan to realise the benefits with co-deliverables with other agencies and Local Authorities. I completed verbal and written formal reports for Becta and DfE Board and changed the Gateway Review in this aspect from RED to GREEN.

Reporting to TDA, DfE and others across government including the Children’s Minister, I was: • London Schools Programme Manager designing and delivering the first London Schools plan delivering personalised advice and guidance across the TDA’s remit of workforce development and school improvement planning; • National Extended Services Adviser leading the design and delivery of national conferences, regional events, learning networks and support for schools to implement Extended Services and the Common Assessment Framework in their local clusters; and • National Training and Development Adviser leading the design and delivery of national conferences, regional events, learning networks and support for schools to professionally develop their workforce in tandem with the National Agreement & Local Social Partnerships.

I led the Group’s ICT services to schools including the first new BSF projects: • ICT Adviser for Haringey BSF – I led the BSF ICT work with 17 PRU / SEN / secondary schools that delivered educational ICT visions, a business case with affordability model, a specification of need, a strategy for change and tender documentation for a £20m ICT solution; and • ICT Adviser for Lewisham BSF – I led the BSF ICT work with three secondary schools and the Project Team to deliver the same outputs as Haringey above for a £15m ICT solution.

DfE ICT Test Bed Project Leader. Responsible for advising and leading the six Primary Schools, three Secondary Schools and one FE College in Barking & Dagenham that made up this cluster of the DfE ICT Test Bed Project. I led the £7.5m budget and the advice in the use of ICT to facilitate whole school improvement from nursery to adult learning. I delivered innovative strategies for cluster staff to model Total Cost of Ownership and to accelerate and sustain change (both nationally disseminated) and delivered an agreed £2.5m Authority wide Home – School Engagement Plan.

Educational ICT Adviser. Responsible for supporting innovative schools and strategic projects in London and the South East where there was educational and/or technical complexity, within a RM / SIMS / Microsoft portfolio. I had to interpret the implications of products and services, vet proposals and tenders, produce ‘white papers’ and present at seminars. I led ICT Improvement INSET days to promote an action plan that utilises the solution and answers the objectives of the School, ensuring on-going customer satisfaction.

I was responsible for leading the teaching of ICT and Computing, growing A Level Computing pupil numbers by >700%. I led the whole school, cross curricular teaching and assessment of ICT in Key Stages 3 and 4. I managed a large whole school network including SIMS and a team of technicians to ensure the school network met school needs and expectations.
