About Setareh Jafari

Hello, my name is Setareh Jafari, I am currently a fourth year student studying Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Mechanical Systems at California Baptist University. This past year I have become Secretary of the Society of Women Engineers, which has allowed me time to fine-tune my communication and teamwork skills by organizing events such as a Resume Workshop with Southern California Edison along with planning a STEM K-12 events which allows engineers to reach common goals and plans of networking and connecting with industry along with reaching future generations of STEM students. As a biomedical engineer, my goal in the healthcare field is to improve patients’ lives all while challenging myself to research and find preventive measures to improve the healthcare industry through collaboration and innovative technology. Technical skills such as MATLAB, LabView, Python, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks have allowed me to enhance and develop my skills in engineering. Every project I have completed has shown me how to work with a team, but also how to take initiative when needed as communication is essential which I have seen through my involvement in the Society of Women Engineers along with my engineering projects I have completed. I desire to work in a field that will allow me to enhance patients' lives by developing innovative technology within the healthcare industry along with evolving medical devices and research. My intent is to improve biological issues that are faced daily improving the health care system.
