Dr. Seth B. Hunter is a computational social scientist, an Associate Professor of Education Leadership at George Mason University, a Senior Fellow at EdPolicyForward, the Center for Education Policy at George Mason, and a Research Affiliate with the Tennessee Education Research Alliance. His research has examined K12 educator and organizational performance assessment and management, educator human capital development, school improvement, and the quasi-experimental effects of education policy. His recent work explores the limitations and affordances of human-machine partnerships that can advance educator and organizational effectiveness, efficient and equitable decision-making and resource allocation, and the use of research by practitioners and policymakers. Before joining academia, Dr. Hunter held numerous nonprofit leadership positions in local and state organizations and legislatively created committees. His field-based and academic experiences repeatedly reinforce the importance of research-practice partnerships as the best way to conduct research of consequence. Dr. Hunter has co-led research teams that have received more than $650,000 of funding from several foundations.
