As the Sr. VP of Development & Partner at Riaz Capital, I oversee the company’s investment in new projects, including acquisition, construction, design, and entitlement. I manage the many moving puzzle pieces of development so we can deliver projects purposefully and flawlessly. After years of working on acquisitions, asset management, project management, finance, and investor relations, I now focus on empowering our incredible team. I lead with a people-first mindset, create consensus, and inspire deeper collaboration between stakeholders. I believe success is possible through accountability, empathy, and communication. Riaz Capital’s biggest goal is to build stylish, convenient, and affordable housing for the middle-income workforce. We also support and contribute to the communities we operate in. Including projects in development, our portfolio includes over 3,600 units in the Bay Area. We plan to replicate our model across California and the West through our new Distressed Value-Add Fund, building on our successful value-add track record – 2.3x net Equity Multiple and 20.4% net IRR in our previous value-add fund. At Riaz Capital, we focus on minimizing risk while delivering maximum impact. For our residents, we build transit-oriented, high-quality apartments at an affordable price. For our investors, we provide the opportunity for high, risk-adjusted returns and cash flow in real estate. Our team is obsessive about costs and design, which helps us generate meaningful returns while designing gorgeous homes. Before Riaz Capital, I moved into public accounting after getting a degree in economics. I spent over two years at Deloitte, learning how businesses work from the inside. The accounting world is brilliant and necessary, but it's not very innovative. When I met Riaz, I discovered I could do both necessary and innovative work. When I’m not working, I’m likely catching up with my twin brother or playing tennis to keep up my winning streak over Riaz.
