How did this Oklahoma guy from a town of only 500 people end up living in Hawaii? It was a bright, sunny, spring day and a digital ad showed up on a client's website I was researching for a meeting later in the day. The ad was for Hawaii and I immediately started daydreaming about life on the Islands and what it must be like to wake up to the sounds of ocean waves crashing along the beach. I had worked for Cox Media for 15 years and was needing a new adventure. I worked as a Marketing Strategist where I was awarded the highest honor given to a Marketing Strategist nationwide, the Torch award. From there, I moved into a sales role that took my marketing expertise to a whole new level. I learned directly from my clients what they were truly needing by asking direct questions and understanding their goals and needs. From there, I was promoted to Sales Enablement and Creative Services Manager. I implemented strategic and tactical email marketing campaigns to drive engagement and sales. As the Creative Service Manager, I was committed to leading, nurturing, and supporting creative community-building efforts both externally and internally. After all this, I was ready for my next journey in life.In my regular life, I love nothing more than making people laugh, cry, and create memories that will last a lifetime. I am an actor. I have been in over 100+ theater productions in just about every capacity from the directing, acting, stagecraft, and lights. I was also Dizzy, the Goat, the Tulsa State Fair mascot for 10 years. It was time to turn the page and start a new adventure. I sold everything and moved to the Big Island of Hawaii and built my own house using my two hands. Had I ever built a house, I haven't, but I was willing to learn, fail, and figure it all out. I used my negotiation skills to get the best pricing on building materials and my theatre stagecraft skills to build the house. Now my house is built, I'm looking for my next adventure. I'm willing to learn new things. After building my house, I learned I can do anything I set my mind to.
