About Seth Harris
My focus today is on communication training with folks in a variety of fields from law enforcement to social work. As an actor and coach, I provide realistic scenarios in which to practice de-escalation, empathy, and active listening. I'm currently pursuing my Master's in Communication from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and I look forward to taking the knowledge and the skills I learn there into my work, expanding my work into organizational and leadership communication coaching and consulting. Meanwhile, I continue to run Mad Rush Productions, building on what I learned from my theatre experience and time at Meow Wolf to create experiential performances including murder mysteries and nights with dead authors like Edgar Allan Poe and Mark Twain. My background in theatre includes time as an actor and arts administrator. I also occasionally dabble as a playwright. I've served on the boards of Vintage Theatre Productions and the Colorado Theatre Guild. At present I serve as the Director of Development for Visionbox Studio, expanding their grant and donor profiles. I am always looking for ways to further my career in the arts in addition to my work in communication. For me the two are inextricably tied together. In the long long ago, I also worked in social media market research, first as an annotator and later as a data and operations analyst. Although I've left the desk life behind, the skills I learned continue to come in handy when I can't avoid interacting with a spreadsheet.
