I'm an award-winning producer and storyteller, devoted to integrating the perspectives of different worldviews — so that no insight is left behind.I'm the former Executive Director at the Institute for Cultural Evolution, a non-profit think tank devoted to addressing polarization from the upstream place of culture. Before that, I was the Executive Producer at the Center for Humane Technology, the organization at the heart of the Netflix documentary The Social Dilemma. Today, I lead Synthesis Media, a non-profit production studio devoted to integrating the perspectives of different worldviews. My work has been covered by outlets from NPR to the MIT Technology Review, supported by institutions such as the Mozilla Foundation and the Sundance Institute, and exhibited throughout the United States and Europe. I won two Webbys for Deep Reckonings — a series of explicitly-marked deepfake videos that imagine morally courageous versions of our public figures. To get a feel for my work, listen to my interviews on KALW's Inflection Point (bit.ly/3jGcAEg) and the Jim Rutt Show (jimruttshow.com/stephanie-lepp/). Bar/Bat-Mitzvah DancerPartyscapes 1996 - 1998San Francisco Bay AreaI'd be remiss if I didn't include my first job, which left a lasting impression and may have been a harbinger of things to come. As a bar- and bat-mitzvah dancer, I was one of those people with the sequin vests leading you in the YMCA. But it wasn't just dance — I integrated dance moves with social psychology to lure the full diversity of guests, from grandchildren to grandparents and the cool kids to the socially awkward, onto the dance floor. To this day, the experiences I design continue to draw from the skills I developed in that sequin vest.
