Synthesis Media (formerly Infinite Lunchbox) is a non-profit production studio devoted to producing media that integrates the perspectives of different worldviews. Previous projects include: Deep Reckonings, a series of explicitly-marked deepfake videos that imagine morally courageous versions of our public figures (deepreckonings.com); Reckonings, a narrative podcast that told the stories of people who transformed their worldviews (reckonings.show); and Where I'm Coming From, an experience designed to build empathy by speaking other people's perspectives in first person (vimeo.com/155475455). My work has won Webbys, exhibited internationally, been covered by outlets such as NPR and the MIT Technology Review, and been supported by institutions like the Mozilla Foundation and Sundance Institute.

As our Executive Director, I'm building our team, leading the production of media that integrates different perspectives, and shepherding us towards greater impact.

The Center for Humane Technology is devoted to catalyzing a humane future. Our organization was at the heart of the Emmy award-winning Netflix documentary, The Social Dilemma. As our Executive Producer, I lead Your Undivided Attention — our podcast hosted by Tristan Harris and Aza Raskin, which has garnered over 10 million downloads. I'm also working to bring CHT into new media.

IFTF is an independent, non-profit research organization providing practical foresight for a world undergoing rapid change. As a Research Affiliate, I'm part of a network of thought leaders and innovators amplifying IFTF's capacity to engage with the most challenging futures. I've worked with the Institute in areas such as digital currency and the future of automation.

DAYBREAKER is an early morning dance experience that will start your day off unlike anything else. As our Managing Director for our first year, I scaled DAYBREAKER to six new cities (three domestic and three international), while maintaining the quality and hand-crafted feel of our experience. I built key infrastructure enabling us to grow, including our production playbook, communications pipeline, and B2B offering. As our Lead Producer in San Francisco for almost two years, I produced local DAYBREAKER events in venues ranging from the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to SF Hornblower yachts.

BBMG creates innovative brands that engage and inspire today's increasingly conscious consumers. As a lead strategist, I was fortunate to advise diverse clients across sectors, in areas such as corporate social innovation for NBC and impact investing for AOL co-founder Steve Case’s family foundation. Along with my client work, I developed BBMG's thought leadership in corporate social innovation.

As an independent consultant specializing in social innovation, public engagement, and experience design, I work directly with clients as well as through consulting firms. Purpose builds social and consumer movements, both as a consulting service for progressive brands and non-profits, and through incubation using a model of movement entrepreneurship. As a lead strategist, I led projects around social innovation and civic engagement for clients such as Audi and the City of New York, as well as for Purpose's incubated movements. I also played a leadership role in codifying methodology and building the company’s shared value practice. Lincoln Chafee is the first independent governor of Rhode Island. As the Director of Social Media & Open Government for Chafee's gubernatorial campaign, I developed our digital strategy as well as our policy platform on open government, articulating how to use social media to make Rhode Island state government more open, participatory, and collaborative.Responsibilities: • Developed Open Government Platform for the State of Rhode Island • Developed social media and web strategy• Managed campaign website, micro-sites, and seven social media properties• Directed and edited videos in Final Cut Pro for Chafee’s YouTube channel • Performed all above responsibilities in English, Portuguese, and Spanish

Providence, Rhode Island

Pecha Kucha Night is a global show-and-tell event in over 800 cities worldwide. Originating in Tokyo, I launched Pecha Kucha in Providence, Rhode Island. I produced monthly events for almost two years, managing marketing and communications, soliciting presenters (including the then-Providence Mayor David Cicilline), emceeing events, and eventually training my successor. Pecha Kucha Providence had its 7-year anniversary in March of 2016, and is one of the only cities in the world besides Tokyo to sustain events on a monthly basis.

I wrote and produced videos for various prominent innovation and technology blogs, like FastCo, The Long Now Foundation's Long Views, and Howard Rheingold's Smart Mobs. I represented blogs at related conferences, including the Gov2.0 Summit and the Business Innovation Factory Summit, where I interviewed such luminaries as Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales and visualization expert Fernanda Viégas.

As a graduate student at UC Berkeley, I founded The Graduates, an award-winning KALX radio show dedicated to graduate student research across campus. Topics ranged from supernovae to web-enabled paintball guns to the training of US Marines for Iraq. I produced weekly shows, and eventually trained my successor. I'd be remiss if I didn't include my first job, which left a lasting impression and may have been a harbinger of things to come. As a bar- and bat-mitzvah dancer, I was one of those people with the sequin vests leading you in the YMCA. But it wasn't just dance — I integrated dance moves with social psychology to lure the full diversity of guests, from grandchildren to grandparents and the cool kids to the socially awkward, onto the dance floor. To this day, the experiences I design continue to draw from the skills I developed in that sequin vest.
