Focused on prevention and problem resolution, involving: problem identification, service restoration through means of redundant systems or workarounds, troubleshooting and repair of the fault and restoration to primary service. • Responsible for overall technical production of Network Operations, including direct management of 4 network engineers (including reviews, hiring and terminations), integration vendors, manufacturers, maintenance contracting and budgeting. • Initiated and managed a central Help Desk for Network Operations, responsible for supporting 12 local and 6 remote workstation analysts in North America. • Designed and implemented a Network Management system. This platform, along with the Network Operations Staff produced reduced response times to outages, the ability to monitor and statistically trend network utilization, and model growth rates to preempt resource deficiencies. • Responsible for new site engineering. Evaluated, designed, and project managed the installation/upgrade of LAN/WAN infrastructures that meet all IEEE and USOC standards for cabling as well as BMG standards for communication via BMG’s enterprise backbone. • Established BMG as an entity on the internet. Designed, installed and managed all aspects of internet connectivity to the public internet. Developed numerous applications to proliferate the dissemination of information available to engineers and analysts, track all network anomalies, and prevent reoccurrence. These applications primarily existed on Lotus Notes and HTML (inter- and intra-net). • Designed and implemented a LAN/WAN strategy to utilize existing resources (bandwidth et al) in a more efficient manner.
