Bringing a historic and international lens to my life's work - I center ecological sustainability, community health, and social justice. I have been involved with energy, climate and environmental movement building - with a focus on building frontline community capacity - for the past 25 years. Through my consulting, I work with foundations, funder networks, donors, city and state government agencies, socially conscious businesses, nonprofits, artists, and community based organizations to integrate a justice lens into environmental and climate programmatic work.Clients have included the Chicago Frontline Funding Initiative, McKnight Foundation, Midwest EnvironmentalJustice Network, Health and Environmental Funders Network, Surdna Foundation, City of Minneapolis, National Audubon Society, One Square World (City of Boston, City of Providence Racial and Environmental Justice Committee), COPAL, Community Members for Environmental Justice, Aniccha Arts, and other community groups on the ground in Minneapolis, Minnesota where I live. In addition to pushing for structural policy change (i.e. around cumulative impacts, zoning, etc), I am committed to arts-based, culture-shifting organizing strategies. I have worked with numerous community of color-led arts groups over the years, including Aniccha Arts, Ananya Dance Theatre, RLM Arts, Zenteotl Project, and Line Break Media on collaborative projects related to environmental justice. Outside of my consulting work, I am incubating a startup organic food business and writing an ecological justice focused children's book series (as a past Loft Literary Center’s Mirrors and Windows fellow) - efforts working to intentionally shift the current ecological paradigm toward one of reciprocity and social justice.
