About Sharon Davis

Sharon is currently co-producer and presenter with RTE in Ireland on "Finding Samantha" an international podcast. She is a highly acclaimed investigative journalist, documentary and podcast producer. She has worked in print, podcasting, radio and television. Following on from her successful sound trail in Washpool National Park, she is currently working with the National Parks and Wildlife Service on an audio tour for Ku-ring-gai National Park. As well as working as a podcast producer, she regularly works as an editorial consultant, mentor and trainer for broadcasting organisations. * The winner of four Walkley awards and numerous other national and international awards. Well-known for her ability to combine the rigour of investigative journalism with the eloquence of fine audio feature making, including observational storytelling. She has produced more than 40 documentaries and podcasts. * Highly experienced in podcast production. Aside from her own podcasts, she works as a consulting producer assisting others to develop their podcasting capacity and produce a new podcast. *A skilled interviewer recording with notable writers, poets, authors and musicians such as Tim Winton, Helen Garner, Nadine Gordimer, Alistair Sparks, Hugh Masekela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. For the past 4 years she has been invited to chair sessions for the Adelaide Festival Writers Week.* Considerable television experience. Her two-part series for ABC television's "Australian Story" , "Into the Fog of War", co-produced with Helen Grasswill was nominated for two Walkley awards and a NSW Kennedy award.* Experienced trainer. Teaches podcasting, audio storytelling and investigative journalism at UTS as well as in southern Africa and the Pacific. She has worked with the Community Media Training Organisation as a trainer and mentor for the past 8 years. She also works as a freelance print journalist.Her audio features and podcasts, including "Finding Samantha", "The Left to Die Boat"​, co-produced with Geoff Parish, and "the Search for Edna Lavilla" have been broadcast around the world, including on the BBC. "Inside the NSW Drug Court"​ - a compelling three-part audio series, recorded for the first time ever, inside Australia’s largest Drug Court – a specialist court where long-term addicts with extensive criminal histories are put through a gruelling rehabilitation program. Over a two-year period, producer Sharon Davis was granted unprecedented access to the Court and five of its participants.
