Being a Communication and Information Officer at the EU Delegation in East Jerusalem implies a leading role in designing and deploying communication strategies and outreach initiatives to build and maintain awareness of the EU's activities and policies in Palestine. Since 2009, I was the press contact point for Palestinian and Arab media outlets with regard to EU activities and interventions in Palestine. The designated tasks included managing and implementing media related projects together with public diplomacy and outreach activities. I have been also involved in reviewing and developing communication strategies for EU funded projects and providing communication training for the implementing partners teams. This is in addition to maintaining the daily work of the press office including drafting and editing information materials, proper monitoring and follow-up of EU-related coverage in the local media, coordinating visits to EU projects for incoming European journalists, and preparing daily press reviews. I also provide input to the work of the political section at the delegation and am involved in VIP visits of European officials.
