The full title of the project is "Provision of Consultancy Services for Consolidation of Data, Information and Models from the Integrated Water Resources Management and Development Plans and Preparation of Requirements Specification for WRIS & WEB Portal", in which I'm acting as "Surface Water Resources Task Leader".Moreover to consolidation of data and information from the completed IWRMD Plans and previous water resources assessments, production of knowledge products including: 1) Water Resources Fact Sheets for the nine Basins, 2) Annotated Bibliography, and 3) Water Resources Atlas for Tanzania, is among the outputs of the study.

Lead Hydrologist and Surface Water Resources Assessment Task LeaderIDB is the second largst basin in Tanzania (ca. 163000 km2 in total, ca. 143000 km2 in Tanzania). It is the home of famous Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park, Lake Natron National Park and so many other important and attractive features. It's one of the driest parts of Tanzania. Following studies have been carried out under my task:1) Assessment of climate of the basin, meteorology studies2) Estimate potential monthly and annual runoff by rainfall-runoff modelling and calibrating based on waterbodies water surface fluctuations and some few hydrometric data3) Assessment of Climate Change effects on surface water availability in future and propose adaptation measures4) Drought Assessment and propose adaptation measures5) Flood Hazard Assessment and propose adaptation measures6) Design and Propose Climatic and Hydrometric Monitoring Network7) Basin-wide Erosion and Sedimentation AssessmentI've also been an actively member of water resources modeling and DSS preparation and implementation team.

Lead Hydrologist and Surface Water Resources Assessment ExpertLake Nyasa Basin is located in south of Tanzania. It's a shared basin between Tanzania, Malawi and Mozambique. A total of about 27'500 km2 is inside Tanzania. The basin receives the highest amount of annual rainfall in Tanzania. Following studies was included under the task:1) Assessment of climate of the basin, meteorology studies2) Estimate potential monthly and annual runoff by rainfall-runoff modelling3) Flood Management Study in 4 catchments to propose best management practices4) Design and Propose Climatic and Hydrometric Monitoring Network
