Yekom was founded in 1973 under the name of "Yekom Economic Consultants" to provide consulting services in economic, social, commercial and management areas. The word "Yekom" meaning "the first" in Persian was chosen in view of the fact that it was the first firm established and registered in Iran to provide consultancy services in the area of planning, management and economical studies. In 1974, technical services of land and water development was included in the above services, thus the name of the firm changed into "Yekom Consultants". In 1980, due to the expansion of engineering in the company, the name was changed into "Yekom Consulting Engineers". For the time being, Yekom with more than 50 years of experience in providing engineering services has accomplished over 1500 projects.
