Global Shield against Climate Risks aims to increase protection for vulnerable people by providing better-pre-arranged finance against disasters. Pakistan is among Global Shield's pathfinder countries. The support provided by the Global Shield is centred around a country-led, demand-driven In-Country Process with an interactive multi-stakeholder consultation.The Ministry of Climate Change is leading the In-Country Process in collaboration with UNDP. Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) has been engaged to provide technical expertise at all stages of ICP, including stocktake, gap analysis, and proposals for CDRFI support. As the technical lead, I have conducted the consultations of regional and national stakeholders and I am the lead author of Pakistan's Stocktake & Gap Analysis Report. This is would be a landmark on Pakistan's CDRFI landscape.

Heading Punjab SDGs Support Unit to ensure mainstreaming SDGs in sub-national development plans and strategies, strengthening reporting and monitoring mechanisms, and adopting innovative approaches for acceleration and policy support for SDGs in Punjab, Pakistan; Provision of quality & innovative strategic planning and policy advisory services to the Designing and undertaking (with in-house expertise) and outsource (engaging experts and think tanks) research for detailed background analysis, data collection on social and economic priorities of the province, mainly focusing on the idea of leaving no one behind; Collecting, analysing, and synthesising macro-economic and SDG-related information and best practices, emphasising gender, people with disabilities, the youth and other vulnerable groups, and proposing capacity development options to relevant actors in implementing the sector-specific plans and strategies; Development of SDG framework and aligning it to Punjab’s data and M&E systems for monitoring the provincial vision document.
