This was an event-time contract role, I was required to assist the parking manager in operational delivery for all parking and camping spaces. I was also responsible for the team and volunteers assigned to me on the day.I was working my first music festival and while it was easy to use my event experience to succeed at the role, I also was able to glean the various nuances that are particular to this type of event.

I was responsible for planning and delivering all things transport at the games. This included the coach service, ceremonies, arrivals/departures and the ad-hoc bookable fleet service. The Gold Coast operation was also the first to pioneer a logistics partner program in Australia.This role allowed me to bring my strong people management skills to the table but also helped me develop a lot of hard, professional skills - particularly revolving around data and revenue management. I worked here whilst completing my Master's degree.The tasks were varied and often involved problem-solving across multiple departments, customer service being at the forefront of everything. Being on the ground allowed me to develop a more empathetic and ease-driven approach to process management.

I took on this role as a transition role that would help me set up to get into the sports industry. It was very enjoyable and made me delve deep into the world of various sports.My biggest take back from the roles was discipline and working autonomously. My income depended on how many articles I generated so I had to go out and look for more content everyday - eventually publishing 15 articles a week on average.

At AIESEC I had the opportunity to gain leadership experience most people don't gain until much later in their careers. Developed skills around team leadership, public speaking, consulting, problem solving and strategy that has proved invaluable so far.
