About Shaina Siverson
I am an industrial designer in Denver, Colorado, specialized in product, print and color within the outdoor industry. I worked for 5 years, designing and building furniture, before finishing my degree in Industrial Design in 2013. I decided to shift my focus from the indoors to the outdoors, as my lifestyle, interests and inspirations all seemed to be pointing in the same direction.I was started with American Recreation Products in Feb. 2014 who became Exxel Outdoors in 2015. Over the past 10 years, I have had the opportunity to work on products in every category of our business, including: Sleeping bags, tents, packs, airbeds, running vests, water sports, youth licensed products, camp furniture and accessories, I have also been leading our mass market design teams annual analysis of color and trend as well as building out many of the brand and private label color palettes. I also use trend analysis each year as I develop dozens of custom prints and patterns for retailers. As a designer and a consumer, I find myself continuously drawn to designs that are tasteful and fun. I appreciate details that surprise and excite, and textural variances that heighten our experience. I believe design is about much more than making aesthetically pleasing objects utilitarian objects. I believe building a personal connection between people and their products is the best way to increase the product lifecycle. In this way we can affect our cultural values and as designer Robert Peters said, “Design creates culture. Culture shapes values. Values determine the future.”
Listed skills include Industrial Design, Product Design, Sketching, Model Making, and 21 others.
