• Led small teams of researchers in developing the emulsion PCR kit for the GS-FLX+ System and 454’s ion-sensitive field effect transistor (ISFET)-based DNA sequencing platform.
• Designed and performed experiments which resulted in a 10 fold increase of DNA template amplification yield onto microspheres; this increase met performance requirements for ISFET sequencing.
• Directed efforts to increase amplification yield of longer DNA fragments by 40% meeting requirements for the launch of GS FLX+ System.

• Technical lead in charge of development of the launched GS Junior Titanium emPCR Kit on the GS Junior System, the first bench-top next generation sequencer.
• Designed and performed experiments on a new emulsion generation method which allowed for the implementation of a 10 fold less expensive instrument compared to earlier methods.
• Coordinated lab activities of seven scientists during Verification and Validation studies which led to the launch of the GS Junior Titanium emPCR Kit.
• Authored documents related to kit definition and design which allowed for the successful creation of required manufacturing documents.

Team member in the launch of Genome Sequencer 20 instrument as the first next-generation DNA sequencer ushering in the modern era of massively parallel sequencing. Laboratory research included transfection, protein expression and purification of custom enzymes. Helped implement assays used in reagent quality control as well as in manufacturing process for.

Identified 500 clone domain sequences in deadline-driven environment of Full Length Cloning Group: In Frame Cloning and Primer Walking. Designed primers for primer walking and performed in-frame cloning and cloning PCR. Utilized robotics for sequencing and PCR cleanup in a high-throughput environment.
