During the pandemic and whilst waiting on my Canadian Permanent Residency to be processed, I temporarily left Canada for home in Jamaica. I spent time working on various projects, for both personal as well as donating my skills to local businesses free of charge. During this time I had the opportunity of exploring and familiarizing myself with new and different technologies to widen my available tool-set. Some of the projects I worked on during this period were:- Web3 Projects- A modular front-end application template written with Angular- A modular, portable server application written with .Net Core- Setting up a Point of Sales system for a local business- Creating a VS Code extension for managing and applying application profile- Configuring docker images on a per stack and per project basis for rapid development and creating consistent run environmentsI dedicated my free time to familiarizing with the in's and out's of configuring, both Debian and Arch based Linux distributions. I have created a few Github gists related to quality of life improvements for developing on a Linux based system.
