I have worn many hats in my career. Prior to embarking on my medical career, I worked as an organic chemist at the University of California San Francisco. I then earned my Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University, proudly accepting a commission in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps. I completed an internship in General Surgery at Naval Medical Center San Diego before becoming the medical department head for multiple operational units within the Navy and Marine Corps. Concurrently, I began delving into addiction medicine, serving as the Medical Director for multiple medication-assisted treatment facilities treating opioid use disorders. Following these military tours, where I served both at home and abroad, I accepted a position at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health as an Occupational and Environmental Medicine Resident. Upon completion of my residency in June 2022, I took command of the Occupational Medicine and Preventive Medicine Departments at Navy Medicine Readiness & Training Command Guam, as well as functioning as the Public Health Emergency Officer for Joint Region Marinas. I am currently serving at the Director of Public Health for Navy Medicine & Readiness Command Annapolis.
