Shane Joined the Australian Army in 1987 under general enlistment and completed his basic Air Dispatch course. Shane has completed air side safety courses enabling him to work alongside air craft using various types of air craft loading vehicles. He has experience working with Dangerous Goods and has had over twenty years experience in aerial resupply, being employed overseas on operations using his skills involving airdrop, external lift and Parachute operations. He has carried out resupply and recovery tasks with various types of rotary wing aircraft including Blackhawk, CH47 Chinook, mi26, and many others. Shane has been employed as an aerial delivery supervisor and played a pivotal role during overseas operations, offering sound advice and solutions to senior commanders in regard to air craft capabilities and configurations for possible recovery of personnel and equipment. He has been involved in coordinating helicopter heavy lift landing zones with multiple aircraft at one time and has had many years of experience with loading/unloading various types of air craft. As a supervisor, Shane has been responsible for a specialist team and coordinating loads for strategic move with multiple fixed wing air craft and conducting staff checks on weight and balance and movement plans to achieve efficiency and effectiveness. Shane has been employed as an instructor within his current trade with the department of defence and has been involved heavily with capability development, integration and ongoing support for a number of capabilities for Special Forces units. Shane has been involved with the making of a big wave surfing documentary, using his aerial delivery skills to air drop Jet Ski’s into the ocean. Shane has offered advice on training and safe practices while coordinating with air crew and other key appointments during the making of the documentary to achieve the best outcomes.Shane, as the director of Cold Bore Precision, currently has a contract with defence conducting feral pest eradication throughout greater WA on defence owned range facilities. Cold Bore Precision is committed to the preservation of all native flora and fauna.
