Growing up in Australia, I can trace back to the specific event which set me on my current course. I was a young teenager riding home from school on the train when I was attacked by a man. Although I was ultimately able to fight him off, the vulnerable feeling of not knowing how to protect myself led me to start learning martial art and self-defense. The desire grew from not only being able to protect myself but to protect others and led me to become a Police Officer. I finished my career in the Police working as a Detective in the Criminal Investigation Branch.I then moved to Los Angeles where I started my career in private security. I was working in the executive protection field protecting Hollywood celebrities and coordinating security for red carpet event. I met James Tilton, who came from the entertainment security industry, and we started Associated Protection Specialists.My desire to protect others has further led me becoming involved in training organizations on how to become more resilient in the face of emergencies or disasters.Outside of work my time is spent with my wife, son and daughter.
