I'm currently employed as a Field Service Engineer in the Drive Technologies group here at Siemens. My work is primarily geared towards LV inverter drives and their related automation control. The range of drives that we support at Siemens go back several decades into the 80's... that gives an insight as to reliability of the equipment we service... there's great exposure to a real history of drives on their subsequent developments.Although I work on all types of plant, be it at water treatment facilities or in a factory environment, my prime focus is actually container terminal operations. Having worked with cranes and associated lifting equipment for a greater part of my career, it's a natural progression into terminal operations and controls. Currently I'm involved in various projects based around Europe and further afield which see's me involved in the development of new control systems and business opportunities. Maintenance and overhaul to port cranes and mechanical handling equipment. Works also included installation of wiring and services thoughtout various buildings and refrigerated areas for storage of containers.

Planned and directed maintenance/installation works throughout the Tenix shipbuilding site in Williamstown, Melbourne.Had approximately 15 full time electricans under my control as well as various sub-contractors as required. This was a continuation of my work from Transfield Construction. I changed divisions and increased my scope of work to include other plant and infrastructure.My work now included high voltage switiching and maintenance on plant used in the manufacture and assembly ships in the construction process.

I was involved with the maintenance and repair of overhead, mobile and portal cranes within this facility. Repair and upgrade works were also undertook as the role developed. I also worked on electric foklifts, pallet trucks and other materials handling equipment.

Apprenticed as an electrian with an additional endorsement to allow for work on elevator and escalator equipment. Primarily involved in maintaining and repair of this equipment with a short term involving it's installation also.
