I'm currently employed as a Field Service Engineer in the Drive Technologies group here at Siemens. My work is primarily geared towards LV inverter drives and their related automation control. The range of drives that we support at Siemens go back several decades into the 80's... that gives an insight as to reliability of the equipment we service....

This position includes the maintenance, repair and upgrade of mechanical plant used in the fabrication of cryogenic tanks.Various improvement projects have been undertaken to extend the life of existing equipment and improve uptime and availability. The improvement works involve the retrofitting of new AC control systems for motor control along with safety.

Maintenance and overhaul to port cranes and mechanical handling equipment. Works also included installation of wiring and services thoughtout various buildings and refrigerated areas for storage of containers.

Planned and directed maintenance/installation works throughout the Tenix shipbuilding site in Williamstown, Melbourne.Had approximately 15 full time electricans under my control as well as various sub-contractors as required. Planned and issued works as well as speciality fault finding where required and assisting production meeting their milestones.

Involved in the handover along with the ongoing maintenance on the 'Citylink' motorway project in Melbourne, Australia.Was part of a team of 6 electricians responsible for the maintenance and repair of the motor way systems and road furniture.Consisted of around 20 miles of surface roadway broken into elevated sections and bridgework as well as about 3.5.

This was a continuation of my work from Transfield Construction. I changed divisions and increased my scope of work to include other plant and infrastructure.My work now included high voltage switiching and maintenance on plant used in the manufacture and assembly ships in the construction process.
