About Shannon Epps
I moved to Oklahoma in March of 2008 from Virginia Beach, Virginia, where I had just completed my volunteer return to the United States Marine Corps after taking a year off at the end of my mandatory 6 year enlistment in the Reserves. I chose to join the Marines after my freshman year at Virginia Commonwealth University in lieu of a summer job - later to be realized as one of those invaluable decisions in life. Throughout my college career, I would spend some weekends and summers as a Supply Clerk at Marine Air Control Squadron 24 and the rest at school, working to perfect everything from marksmanship, to spreadsheets and the number of cots one can fit in a box, to my research on psychological disorders. After a one year stint proving to myself that counseling and psychology were not in my professional future, I returned home to Deltaville, Virginia, to work for and learn from my father - Mike Vest (Managing Broker of the family Real Estate firm). There I fell for the business, stresses, excitement and potential of the Real Estate industry - where I remain, though in a different format. As 2006 proved to be an excellent year for a hiatus from Real Estate, I returned to the Marines for a year of Active Duty while the unit was deployed. This initiated the series of events that has brought me to Oklahoma - this big, lovely, flat, windy landlocked plain!
