Shannon has been appointed the new Chief of Police of the City of Patton Village, Texas Police Department. In 2014, Shannon joined the team of professional Firefighters, Police Officers, and Emergency Management personnel at the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office in Houston, Texas. He also served on the IMT at Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR). Previously, Shannon proudly served as a Police Officer at the Cleveland, Texas ISD Police. Shannon is also the former Safety and Emergency Management Coordinator, and Police Supervisor, for the Humble ISD. HISD was awarded the REMS (Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools) grant in 2010. Cpl. Sharp was appointed grant manager soon after. Supported by a great team of professionals from area Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS organizations, the REMS grant concluded in 2012 after a very successful outcome. After the grant completion, Corporal Sharp continued his duties as Safety and Emergency Management Coordinator and was responsible for all Emergency Management and Safety Operations in the district. Sharp attended many Emergency Management, Homeland Security instructor courses and regularly teaches this subject matter around Texas. Sharp has attended many very specialized Explosives Response, Chemical and Biological weapons Response and Haz-MSharp’s law enforcement career began in 1985, with the Kemah, Texas Police Dept. Sharp went on from Kemah to work with the Seabrook, Texas Police Dept., and finally the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Houston, Texas, where he served many years as Deputy Sheriff until entering the private sector. Sharp returned to law enforcement when he joined the Humble ISD Police Dept. where he held the rank of Corporal. Sharp separated from Humble ISD in June of 2014. Sharp is a TCLEOSE Master Peace Officer, Police Instructor, Special Investigator, Firearms Instructor, FTO and is SWAT certified. On his off time, Sharp is the drummer for the Second Baptist Church Houston North Orchestra.
