Shannon is currently a Vice President & General Manager for Gray Media located in Lincoln, NE. She manages several market-leading digital and streaming products, plus a network of TV stations, including KOLN, KSNB and KNOP. The stations serve Lincoln, Grand Island, Hastings, Kearney, North Platte and many communities in between. Shannon prioritizes healthy workplace culture, heavy collaboration and safe zones for innovation. Most recently, she's led through a successful tower rebuild project, the challenges of the pandemic and streaming advancements and opportunities.Shannon currently serves as president of the board for the Heartland Cancer Foundation and is past chair of the Nebraska Broadcasters Association. She's a volunteer for Tabitha Hospice, a member of Lincoln South Rotary and an Executives 33 cohort graduate with Leadership Lincoln. She's a 2023 Inspire Award nominee and previously served as an ambassador for the Friendship Home.Before Lincoln, Shannon spent 18 years at KCRG in Cedar Rapids, IA. She held several management positions in news, digital, marketing and creative. She led KCRG through its successful transition to high-definition television, the launch of several multicast channel startup operations, the station's first mobile products and more. Shannon also spent time at WOI in Ames, IA, KTIV in Sioux City, IA, WHO in Des Moines, IA and KWWL in Waterloo, IA.Shannon earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State University. She also served as a T.A. and helped lead a broadcast news class there. Shannon has since studied with the Freedom Forum Institute, NABEF, The Adaway Group, Poynter Institute and Pacific Institute.In her free time, she enjoys boating, golfing, reading and spending time with her family.
