Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School is a coed, tuition-free charter school in Albuquerque, NM serving nearly 800 students in grades 6-12. Following the Paideia principles and pedagogy, Cottonwood offers the pre-university International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program to juniors and seniors. Our guiding principle is for students to become life-long learners who actively engage in the curriculum through project-based learning and Socratic seminars. The Cottonwood experience is infused with critical thinking, thoughtful discourse, and collaboration.

Villa Santa Maria was a residential treatment center in Cedar Crest, NM specializing in treating children with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) through an attachment-based model and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy. The VSM school served students in grades 2 through 10 with extreme behavioral and emotional needs. Teachers work in cooperation with milieu counselors, therapists, and a treatment team to meet the unique educational needs of students in a multi-age, multi-grade cross curricular environment. VSM closed its doors due to COVID-related financial concerns in December 2019 after 65 years of service to children in need.

Media Arts Collaborative Charter School was founded in 2008 as New Mexico's first state-charted public school. The school offers secondary students a comprehensive, project-based, cross-curricular education centered in the media arts, preparing graduates for both post-secondary education and careers in film, programming and design, and the visual arts.* Level II Licensure grades 7-12, Social Studies & English* 2007 founding teacher; 2009-2017 Head Teacher, MACCS Instructional Council Chairman, Humanities Department Chair, head of the data team.* Used professional background to build school infrastructure and design innovative media-based curriculum; * Designed and implemented schoolwide presentations of learning, mastery skills models, cross-curricular PBL, and AP programs; * Conducted data analysis; re-designed middle school model to integrate grade level standards-based learning. * Taught both middle and high school humanities classes, journalism, and media electives, including AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP U.S. History, and AP World History. * Coordinated student government, yearbook, prom. schoolwide presentations of learning, and the school's annual Shakespeare Festival.
