Qualitative research analysis of 40 in-depth patient interviews conducted with patients in a relationship affected by HIV in an Ethiopian hospital. The goal of the study is to better understand patients reproductive desires and needs as well as their experiences in discussing their child bearing desires with health care providers. The study also involves analysis of 27 provider interviews investigating the providers' perceptions of the feasibility of incorporating safer conception practices into HIV care in Ethiopia. Analysis is done using Dedoose software.

While at General Pediatrics, I assisted in the completion of daily office tasks and provided organizational assistance as required. I also prepared documents for administrative staff and revised and corrected mistakes in data collected. While working here, I gained an appreciation administrative tasks and an understanding of how important an efficient administrative staff is.

I created and conducted an evaluation of CFLR’s Family Planning Program to identify barriers for HIV positive patients receiving family planning care. Do do this I conducted 50 interviews with women of reproductive age and 10 interviews with clinic providers. I Worked closely with HIV positive and other vulnerable populations with patience, respect and sensitivity. It was necessary to collaborate with clinic staff to overcome barriers and to collect and analyze the data. At the end of this internship, I presented a summary of the study results and provided suggestions for improvement to the clinic director and medical staff which. These suggestions were accepted and integrated into clinic practice. During my time with CFLR I also to create a questionnaire and conduct interviews with 30 pregnant teen mothers, and conducted a focus group with these adolescents to assess reasons for repeat pregnancy to improve services for such women. I successfully completed the above tasks with ease in Spanish.

While working as a full time English Immersion teacher I taught classes of 25 students by creating lesson plans and assignments and evaluated students’ English ability through examinations and class activities. I created and organized documents for grading and reporting scores to the Ministry of Higher Education for certification. I also successfully created a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for students which enabled them to learn effectively resulting in students’ employment with English-speaking companies
