I currently work as part of the leadership team overseeing mine site operations on multiple projects, with direct accountability for overall performance and a strict focus on safety performance, people management, operational performance and identifying business improvement outcomes.I work closely with HR to coordinate and deliver staff recruitment selection and training, and promote staff development through the creation and implementation of personal development plans, upskilling staff to become high-performing leaders, and tailoring training to adjust to varying learning capacities.The business has been highly profitable under my direction for the past three years due to the implementation of several lean cost improvement initiatives, and the elimination of time and product wastage.I have enjoyed great success through the implementation of on-site safety structures and programs, which have significantly reduced injury rates within key focus areas across the business; by developing a highly efficient leadership team dedicated to promoting an improved on-site culture; and by becoming a sounding board for various departments within the East Coast region and providing input and ideas to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.I am currently three months into developing and leading a training restructure project that involves the setup of a comprehensive national training system.

North Bowen Basin

As Area Operations Supervisor, I led a team of 55+ MPU operators across North Central QLD to coordinate the safe and timely delivery of daily production plans.This role involved a high level of logistics management expertise related to managing people’s availability to schedule and track employee training and inductions across various sites and teams. During this time, I implemented a four-month focused improvement program, which involved the close monitoring of key customer delivery schedules in order to increase fleet availability and reduce downtime, which resulted in a significant increase in customer satisfaction and revenue, and led to the company securing additional business.

Millennium Mine

I supervised and trained a team of eight crewmembers while leading a production team, which included the planning, monitoring and reporting of daily production schedules. As the only trained trainer and assessor on site, I was solely responsible for the creation and implementation of personal development plans, and training and assessing new-to-industry staff, which we managed to accomplish within extremely tight timeframes with zero incidents.

This role was split between supervising and managing a team of 12+ blast crewmembers while personally undertaking explosive jobs and collaborating with supervisors, engineers, co-workers and contractors to implement continued production improvement processes.I implemented training programs and assessments for blast crewmembers, and coached and assessed new-to-industry staff while ensuring the delivery of high productivity, correct blast designs, safe outcomes and required results for our customers.During this time, I mentored several new starters who went on to become highly competent trainers and assessors, and who are now successfully delivering training to new-to-industry starters.
