For several years, I have felt a desire to pass on the information I have from my experience and knowledge to see other people and companies grow and succeed. My goal at Shepherds is to empower you to lead your company in a direction for success, to be proud of, and for others to want to follow. I am a fourth-generation entrepreneur. I spent my childhood evenings and weekends working in the family businesses earning my "swequity." I grew up discussing business with my family every day. The saying "the only constant in life is change" certainly applies in business, and more than ever before in the Post-Covid landscape we have seen constantly rising expenses, raw materials costs and shortages, and inflation. Understanding your business and your industry is one of the keys to success. I have learned an enormous amount and made a vast rolodex of connections working the last ____ years in the food, beverage, transportation, and logistics industries. I have experience on all sides of the CPG industry including but not limited to direct-to-consumer and eCommerce sales, wholesale, vendor management, transportation and logistics, warehouse management, and directing entire teams. _______Mentorship.     June 1st 2012 after only talking less than two weeks my wife and I decided to open up a Gluten Free and Allergen Free Bakery. July 5th 2012 we had our health inspection and July 6th we both put our two week notices into our full time jobs. Without business loans we put everything we had into our business and within 6 months we could not keep up with the business. In February 2013 we developed a shelf stable Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Egg Free bread with a one of a kind quality taste and texture.We started serving colleges (Dickinson University, Shippensburg University, Arcadia, Swarthmore, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, John Hopkins and University of Pennsylvania), grocery stores (Giant foods, Stauffers of Kissel Hill and a few other small mom and pop health food stores), and Foodservice companies (Parkhurst Dining, Eat'N'Park, Compass Group, Bon Appetit, Sodexo) as well as some distributors such as FreshDirect and Peapod.We were growing quickly and had several people interested in opening up Betsy’s Bakery Franchises. In May 2014 for circumstances out of control were forced to close both of our retail locations as well as our wholesale. We were down but not out, July 2014 we reopened the wholesale part of Betsy’s back up in a 6000 sqft facility and we are back up and running as of the beginning of August. Our facility is 100% gluten free and Kosher Certified. We are co-packing for a few companies and always looking for more.Our retail location is reopened as of February 12th, 2014 and provides a safe place for local customers to purchase our products and we are always looking to franchise.
