The Prolepsis Institute of Preventive Medicine, Environmental and Occupational Health is a non-profit organization, active in the field of medical research, health promotion, environmental and occupational health since 1990.The Prolepsis Institute consists of a multi-disciplinary team of physicians, public health specialists, statisticians, economists and sociologists. Moreover, the Institute has created a large network of partners not only in Greece but also in Member-States of the European Union, Eastern European Countries and the USA.My role with the institute included assisting with the Diatrofi Food Aid program, which provided 61,000 school children in underprivileged areas throughout Greece with daily healthy meals. The program is funded by Stavros Niarchos Foundation, donating a total of €16 million to the project. In addition to Diatrofi, I was also involved with research projects, and health communication initiatives to promote the Greek Food Guide. Through the Prolepsis Institute I attended several conferences including HPro Immune, a conference regarding the occupational health of medical staff and their apprehension towards vaccinations, and the 3rd Annual Stavros Niarchos International Conference on Philanthropy.
