YuQC also partnered with the Stanford QCA to organize the Quantum Coalition Hackathon, sponsored by 10 industry leaders, including IBM, Google, Microsoft, IonQ, and Amazon. This student-planned hackathon saw 1.5K participants from 80 countries, 200 project submissions, and 22 hours of workshops. Moreover, this event kickstarted the Quantum Coalition (quantumcoalition.io), a platform I co-founded for collaboration between quantum computing clubs from across the world.

I co-wrote the Echoed Conditional Displacement package to achieve universal quantum control of a weakly coupled cavity-transmon system using large phase space displacements and demonstrate bosonic QEC such as the GKP code. ECD is complete with \textbf{Tensorflow} GPU acceleration, Adam optimizer gradient descent, and tSNE data analysis. I also benchmarked ECD on HPC clusters, developed MLE tomography tools and simulated pulse performance under experimental dissipation. • Yale University
    Admissions Representative
    Yale University Jan 2018 - May 2020
    New Haven, Ct, Us
I am a Yale Admissions Office STEM Likely Representative. After applying regular decision to Yale, I was given one of around a hundred STEM likely letters which notified me of my very probable admission months before decisions came out as a part of Yale's program to bring in exceptionally strong STEM students. Now, as a part of Yale's Class of 2021, I am working to provide current likely admitted pre-frosh with the same insight and knowledge that convinced me that Yale would become a second home. Most of my work consists of contacting and conversing with likely admitted pre-frosh and providing honest insight.

    Qc @ Girvin Group | High-Fidelity Dispersive Readout W Adaptive Multi-Frequency Optimization
    Yale University Sep 2018 - May 2019
    New Haven, Ct, Us
Mentor: Professor Steven Girvin (Yale University)"Higher Fidelity Measurement with Adaptive Multiple Frequency Optimization"We aim to develop methods to reduce error in the measurement stage of a Quantum Circuit. In combination with principles of cavity QED, we use an adaptive multiple frequency signal to maximize our fidelity and signal to noise ratio while minimizing demolition rate. Specifically, this signal adapts the weighting of its constituent frequencies as a function of our knowledge of the state of the Qubit being measured. Using the high performance computing clusters at Yale, I also run Monte Carlo simulations, written in multiprocessing Python code and based on a time-inhomogeneous Hidden Markov Model description of our measurement method, to gain knowledge on the ensemble average nature of our measurement method.

    Yale University Feb 2018 - Sep 2018
    New Haven, Ct, Us
Quantum Computing Research (Feb 2018 - Sep 2018)Researcher, Mentor: Professor Steven Girvin Yale UniversityFunding: Yale College First-Year Summer Research Fellowship in the Sciences & Engineering"Interaction-Free and High-Fidelity Measurement Using Counterfactual Quantum Phenomena"In our research project, we developed methods to reduce error in the measurement stage of a Quantum Circuit, which is arguably one of the most fundamental operations of a Quantum Computer. To accomplish this, we leveraged the principles of cavity Quantum Electrodynamics in combination with the Counterfactual Quantum Phenomena that arise from interaction-free measurement techniques as demonstrated by the Elitzur-Vaidman Bomb Tester. Specifically, I theoretically designed a nested Mach-Zehnder Interferometer setup, through which I derived a time-inhomogeneous Hidden Markov Model to fully describe the measurement system and include experimental noise. I primarily tested this measurement model by running Monte Carlo simulations in Python. I also presented this work at the Yale Undergraduate Research Symposium 2018.

  • Voluntoken
    Chief Technology Officer
    Voluntoken Sep 2018 - May 2019
    New Haven, Ct, Us
VolunToken centralizes volunteering opportunities and rewards volunteer work with donation pledges from and discounts at participating local businesses. We do this to incentivize and streamline volunteering, collect quantitative data about the social priorities of a community and enabling proxy volunteering and PR boosting opportunities for businesses. This proxy volunteering also allows institutional volunteering organizations, such as high schools or companies, to consolidate and leverage the volunteering efforts of their constituents. As the head of software development and quantitative modeling of this startup, I lead the development of our website and mobile application written using the Django and React Native frameworks respectively. We are funded by the Yale Tsai City Spring Accelerator. Sign up at voluntoken.com.

Qc @ Dong-Sheng Group | Generation And Quantum Storage Of Non-Classical Photon Pairs
University Of Science And Technology Of China Jul 2018 - Jul 2018
    Hefei, Anhui, Cn
Experimental Quantum Computing Research July 2018 - July 2018Researcher, Mentor: Professor Dong-Sheng Ding University of Science & Technology of China"Generation and Quantum Storage of Non-classical Photon Pairs" I learned about experimental Quantum Computing research on the generation and use of entangled photon pairs to test and develop a Quantum Memory Storage device. Specifically, we used a magneto-optical trap (MOT) to cool and confine Rb-85 atoms through which we generated two entangled photons using four-wave mixing techniques. Although only SAM entanglement has been implemented, eventually there is hope to implement both SAM and OAM entanglement and work towards higher dimensional entanglement. After the generation of these quantum correlated photon pairs, we used the effect of Electromagnetic Induced Transparency to slow, store, and recover one of these photons in another MOT containing Rb-85 atoms. Finally, we tested the quality of the Quantum Storage setup using Quantum Tomography. This research experience was a part of the Future Physicist International Summer Camp.
