Multiple positions: • Magazine Launch Publisher, Entertainment Division, 8/2000 – 12/2000Created and won management’s backing for original concept for women’s service magazine devoted to healthy, conscious living. Directed project development, created marketing strategy, business plan, and editorial format. (Project halted due to financial cutbacks preceding the Internet bust in early 2001.)• National Advertising Sales Director, Revolution Magazine, 1/2000 – 8/2000Lead the strategic planning, sales and marketing effort for the multi-platform media launch (magazine, interactive CD, web site), the company’s first entry into the general consumer market. --Hired, trained, and managed nine-member sales, marketing, and support staff in New York and Los Angeles --Developed marketing and advertising sales pitch, policies and procedures.--Directed publication’s re-positioning from an electronic music trade magazine to a consumer magazine for electronic dance music culture.--Created marketing strategy and sales materials that successfully positioned the brand for mainstream marketers.--Produced highest launch issue advertising revenue in the parent company’s history. --Exceeded sales goals by developing new account categories, including major fashion, liquor, automotive, entertainment, consumer electronics, and technology advertisers.• Southwest Regional Advertising Sales Manager, Business 2.0 Magazine, 1/1999 – 12/1999 Opened Los Angeles-based advertising sales office for the newly launched Internet business magazine.--Hired, trained, and managed two additional sales staff members.--Sold 180-plus pages of new business, exceeding market share of two primary competitive publications by heavily prospecting endemic accounts and winning non-endemic account categories.--Won key non-endemic accounts, including Nissan, Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Apple Computer, and Toshiba. --Promoted to National Ad Director, Revolution.
