Directly responsible for the coordination, supervision, and direction of patient flow, staffing, problem recognition & resolution, staff development, budgeting, productivity, quality improvement, and customer satisfaction for the NICU and Newborn Nursery. Additionally, accountable for direct patient care in concurrent role of Charge RN for the Labor/Delivery, Mother/Baby, and NICU units. Routinely collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in the planning & development of the New Birth Place Tower building project to include an increase in the level of neonatal care for certification as a Level II NICU to open Spring, 2017. This includes process improvements, workflow redesign in all Birth Place units, equipment planning, and staff education. Participate as a member of Birth Place department committees and Hospital Leadership committees, as well as the Safety Committee, Value Analysis Team, and Pump Safety Committee.

Managed all day to day operations for a 40 bed Level IIIb NICU, Heart of America Mothers' Milk Bank, NICU Follow-up Clinic, and Lactation Consultants to include hiring, personnel management, budgeting, quality improvement, orientation, staff education, purchasing of equipment/supplies, as well as collaborating with all ancillary departments, physicians, and families in order to provide the highest quality outcomes for patients.
