From simple process improvement, that improved quote turnaround 71% to a Web based quoting system that provided 24-hour access to the sales team and partners.Implementing a team approach on large opportunities, provided a voice from each contributor (manufacturing, finance, applications, and sales) and championed the best solution at the lowest cost. Involving the sales team, previously excluded from these discussions, solicited the critical components valued by the customer. This improved our hit rate by38%. It also allowed us to critically evaluate those opportunities that were outside our core competences.Several pricing programs were developed for the success of the sales team. These programs allowed them to grow their business, maintain price consistency and maintain data on large accounts to review with their account leaders and understand changes in their customers buying patterns.Product data and critical account reviews provided valuable tools for our sales team, marketing and finance to help guide critical decisions based on well documented facts.
