As a Data Management & Student Support Specialist intern at Make the Road New York, I contribute to empowering underserved communities by ensuring accurate data collection and supporting adult education programs. Make the Road New York addresses the educational gap faced by nearly two million adult New Yorkers by offering essential classes in English, computer skills, citizenship, and health careers. I work closely with the Program Data Coordinator and Adult Education Staff to optimize data processes, assist students and teachers, and create impactful reports that drive program improvements.

As part of my role in Property Management, I actively contribute to maintaining an organized and accurate inventory of all equipment across various departments. My responsibilities include tracking and scanning barcode labels, resolving discrepancies in databases, and managing essential documents. This hands-on experience has strengthened my problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment management and contributing to the overall efficiency of the organization.

During my time as a File Clerk at Wave Crest Management, I was responsible for maintaining and organizing both physical and digital records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. My role involved creating and updating filing systems, performing data entry, and handling administrative tasks across multiple NBC building locations. After completing my SYEP internship, I was offered a position to continue working with the company until school resumed, allowing me to further develop my skills in Excel and office management.
