I am committed to promoting trauma-informed targeted, culturally safe practice within an inclusive, feminist and human-rights based framework that places those affected by DFV at the centre of the response and ensures that the safety and dignity of women and their families is at the core of all DFV support and policy responses. I have implemented, practiced and supported teams to survivors, their children and perpetrators based on:• A rights-based approach• Assessment and management of risk• Prioritising Safety• Effective case planning and management• Awareness of legislative, policy and sector development• Knowledge of service pathways • Promoting and protecting the mental health and wellbeing of practitionersClinical supervision has also been an important part of my work across the counselling sector. I provide an opportunity for dialogue that shapes a process of review, reflection, critique and replenishment for professional practitioners. I believe clinical supervision is an important step to avoiding vicarious trauma in practitioner teams. I am especially committed to a coaching approach, assisting individual self-awareness in a ‘trusting’ environment, thus ensuring good mental health of team members and best practice for clients.
