About Sharon Shepherd
I have worked at Dundee University for 20 years, producing proteins for both X-ray Crystallography and High-throughput screening. I have also trained many students and post docs in expression and purification techniques. Before this I worked in industry for 10 years at Oxford Glycosciences, Lonza Biologics and Murex Biotech(Abbott). All of which involved the expression and purification of recombinant proteins for a variety of uses, including diagnostic assay manufacture, antibodies for clinical trials and X-ray Crystallography.I originally studied for HND in Applied Biology (Nottingham Trent University). Then, while working, studied for BSc Hons in Natural Sciences with Biology with The Open University. A 2:1 was achieved. I then continued my studies further with The Open University gaining an MSc in Biomedical Frontiers.
