Event professional with over 9 years experience in Major Events. My day-to-day consists of planning for events with audiences of over 60,000 - 200,000 attendees. Most recently, I delivered the Auckland Diwali Festival 2023; New Zealand's largest celebration of Indian culture, with over 120,000 visitors in attendance. My current role has allowed me to pivot my focus from local government to central government: delivering and organising events as part of the Governor-General of New Zealand's official programme. This includes investitures, credential and welcome ceremonies for visiting diplomats, receptions and dinners for Vice-Regal patronages, and external and regional visits.My key qualities: Pragmatic thinker, with a perfectionists' eye, and a can-do attitude. Key highlights of my work, study and volunteer histories include: learning best-practice of the industry and creating processes when legislation does not cover event-specific usage of risk-associated equipment/substances/situations, contributing operational and creative direction towards Auckland's largest cultural festivals, and coordinating the production of Auckland Lantern Festivals and Auckland Diwali Festivals. I was appointed as the Event Producer of Auckland Diwali Festival; following 10 years of contributions through interning, contracting, and coordinating for Diwali.
