Developing an online system that worked way before the words "working remotely" was a term, Sharon discovered a love for adopting online platforms to create automated systems so that she could operate an online business while working and raising a family. She loves helping other experts and entrepreneurs do the same.Sharon became a creator, author, and entrepreneur while teaching music in a public school system and raising two young children. The passion to share her Freddie The Frog® success with other music teachers required learning how to manage time and work on the go. In 2017, Sharon brought her heart for music education, entrepreneurial spirit, and leadership skills to the international non-profit, the Jazz Education Network (JEN), serving as the managing director. Working with a small team, she led creating systems to effectively run the nonprofit programs and operations, including an online conference during the pandemic in 2021. When brick and mortar businesses were scrambling to pivot online, Sharon helped other small businesses and entrepreneurs adopt online systems and platforms to work from home (or anywhere with an internet connection) successfully, and continues that work today. As a music educator, a certified teacher with the International Piano Teaching Foundation, and a master’s degree as a Professional Educator, Sharon launched a company in 2003 to produce the bestselling Freddie the Frog® Book series--interactive storybooks that teach basic concepts of music, including a kid-friendly introduction to jazz. The business grew into a relationship with Hal Leonard Corporation/Publishing to handle distribution, and continued writing teaching resources, musicals, and jazz education for the classroom setting. 8.1 million students throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia, and China love music and Freddie The Frog®. Sharon continued creative work focuses on bringing interactive jazz experiences to children and youth of all ages, and interactive music making to all children through Freddie the Frog in children's media, as well as, serving as an education consultant for Jazz at Lincoln Center.
