Sharron D. Stroman is an education professional with a passion for early literacy.Sharron began her career in a university’s early learning program. She gained additional teaching experience in school systems in Maryland and Virginia and served as a school leader in Washington, DC.Sharron provided capacity-building support to practicing educators, early childhood programs, and pre-service teachers. As a graduate student, she was a supervisor of pre-service teachers in a university’s reading clinic. She worked with a national program that promotes the school readiness of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children in the area of early literacy programming. She served as director of literacy for a non-profit organization that supported literacy instruction in a public school system. Sharron was also an adjunct professor for a university’s graduate teacher preparation program, supporting aspiringteachers to deliver literacy instruction.Sharron served as a director with an educator effectiveness company, where she managed, facilitated, and developed professional learning for educators, especially in the area of teacher evaluation.Sharron served as a literacy instructional specialist and an academy director with a public charter network. In both roles, she also served as assessment coordinator.Currently Sharron facilitates learning with educators across the country about early literacy screening – its purpose, administration, and the educational decisions it informs. She also leads internal learning for her colleagues.
