Design Engineer
CurrentAchievementsMigration to Oracle MRPResponsibility: Assist the program to identify/map processes to MRPAchieved- As lead engineer for the Oracle migration I identified and mapped BOM/Routings and material migration process and through that process discovered and implemented process changes that eliminated manufacturing waste due to costing inconsistencies vs. manufacturing processes.Drum CalculatorAchieved- Identified a more effective method for communicating reel size of products to sales and customer service across the various AFL sites in Australia by developing a Drum Calculator which allows accurate information needed with one tool. This eliminated all the calls to the factory for this information and enables teams to self-service as well as accurately cost jobs.Migration and automation of calibrationAchieved- Digitizing the calibration process ensuring that the process has an automated notification system eliminating manual reminders. This has eliminated any key person dependencies from the process.Hyperone Cable ProjectAchieved- Customization of the cable design for large scale Hyperone cable project to meet requirements. Trial of new fibre and new machinery. I lead this process from design validation to verification. This cable is order ready and is able to be produced at scale for the client.New Machine CommissioningAchieved- Lead design engineer for a newly commissioned strander. Working with process engineer to define the requirements for the cable and run validation of the cable to ensure It delivers to the specifications. This was a time critical piece of work as there was a dependency to delivering an orderEliminating RisksAchieved- Established non conforming process and feedback loop for AFL (formely Optimal). For the first time it allowed timely feedback and facilitating the continuous improvement culture in the organisation. This had highlighted a need for a quality assurance specialist who has now taken over this function.
